Facial Hair Removal
- Unwanted facial hair is a common problem among both men and women in many cultures, and for these people, facial hair removal is the usual solution. Many men shave their beards, moustaches, or sideburns, or a combination of all three depending on their desired look, every morning. There are a variety of shaving products for men available for this purpose. Men can purchase either disposable razors or electric razors, and each come in a variety of designs. The number of blades and price also varies among these different products. Men should consider these factors when choosing which shaving product to buy.
For women, shaving is not the usual method to remove facial hair. This is because the hair usually appears coarser and thicker when it grows back, which gives the appearance of what is known as a male-pattern five o’clock shadow in women, so the area has to be shaved sometimes twice a day with this method of facial hair removal. The most commonly-used treatments for unwanted facial hair in women are tweezing, threading, and waxing. Electrolysis and laser hair removal are sometimes also used as solutions for the problem of unwanted hair. Each method has its own pros and cons.
Tweezing is very inexpensive, but it can take up a lot of time and can cause a fair amount of pain and discomfort. The results are also short-term, usually lasting only a few days. Threading is very similar to tweezing, except that it can cover a wider area than tweezing, but it is also harder to do. Waxing is very painful, but its semi-permanent results are very attractive, with the hair-free period lasting for a few weeks. For this reason, many women choose waxing as their preferred method of facial hair removal, especially in Western societies. Threading is more common among women in the Middle East, although the method is gaining popularity in the West.
Electrolysis and laser treatments are also very attractive methods because they offer permanent results. However, they can be expensive. Electrolysis is also time-consuming and requires several treatments. Laser treatment covers a wider area than electrolysis and usually requires less and faster sessions than the other permanent hair removal method. Laser hair removal in Dublin and elsewhere is gaining popularity with both men and women for these reasons. Which method is preferred depends on the person, though, and sometimes culture contributes to the preferred method. Whichever facial hair removal method is chosen, it is sure to solve the common problem of unwanted facial hair.
